Project: Food Budget Weeks 39 & 40

Posted on by on October 12th, 2012 | 1 Comment »

Tip of the Week: Menu Plan! I know I have mentioned this once or twice or even three times before, but seriously, menu planning is the key to saving money on food. Whenever I slack off menu planning I spend more money (exhibit one: see below).

So I put together a Pinterest Board! Go! Check it out. I will continue to add resources. There is something for everyone. Apps, online programs, downloadable worksheets, etc., etc.

Do you have a favourite menu planning tool? Please share.

Week 38 Spending

Budget:

$200/week or $800/month

$200/month at Costco

Total: $1000/month

Under budget, but not my best performance. I will jump back on the menu planning wagon, stat!

Project: Food Budget as initiated by Emily Levenson has ended. I started a bit late and plan to see it through the full 52 weeks…almost there! If you want to read more about the project and those whose who have completed it, check out Emily’s Grand Finale post.
