Tip of the Week: Plan birthday parties outside of main meal times. This week of groceries included a birthday party. I am not exactly sure how much extra the party cost us in groceries but I am sure it increased our spending a bit. However, since it was a 4th birthday party I planned it for 3:00-5:00 pm, outside a major meal time. Realistically, 4 year olds do not care to sit down and eat a five course birthday meal, so save yourself some cash and serve simple snacks and wow them with the cake. We served snacks: Vader Veggies with Droid Dip, Galactic Grapes, Warrior Water, and Jedi Juice. And of course I make cake pops!

I wonder how all my fellow Project Food Budget participants did this week?
