My Approach

Bio-Individuality

The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has her or his own food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you in making positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, personal preferences, and background. Instead of prescribing one fix for all people, I use a personalized, holistic approach that is based on your needs.

A Holistic Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means I look at how the different areas of your life are connected through nutrition. Does stress at your job cause you to overeat? Does low energy prevent you from exercising? Do poor sleep habits affect productivity the next day? As we work together, you will discover how your health influences all facets of your life and how vital nutrition is to bringing balance to your life.

 A health counsellor is a wellness guide and supportive mentor. Together, we will work to achieve your goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, eliminating food cravings, improving sleep and bolstering your energy level. As we work together, you will develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you and we implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Everything is Food

Food is defined as any nourishing substance consumed by an individual to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth and maintain health. This definition of food is idealistic. Food can also impair health, diminish quality of living, and decrease your energy level. How food affects you individually depends on how your body responds to food and how you choose to feed your body. When you discover what foods properly nourish your body, you will begin to notice improvements in all aspects of your life.

Integrative Nutrition Pyramid

The Integrative Nutrition food pyramid focuses on nourishing food and lifestyle choices. Our wellness pyramid emphasizes the importance of high quality vegetables, fruits, complex carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats and water.
